COMAN makes a wide range of tripods and monopods, and most of the ones on Amazon are built around a fluid video head rather than the ball head you'd find on a typical travel tripod. This guide compares four COMAN listings from their Amazon pages: three tripods and one monopod. It also tells you who should look elsewhere.

Paid partnership: COMAN is running Amazon Creator Connections campaigns on these products, so we earn an extra bonus on top of the normal commission when you buy through our links. We haven't used any of them. We don't have samples. Everything here comes from the Amazon listings, and we say where the listing doesn't tell us enough.

The short answer

  • Video tripod that also becomes a monopod: COMAN KX3939Plus. Fluid head, 17.6 lb load, and the center column plus one leg convert to a monopod (listing).
  • Taller, floor-standing video tripod with a leveling bowl: COMAN 74" Video Tripod (FT16LS).
  • Lightweight carbon travel tripod for heavier gear: COMAN T1S Snap Open carbon tripod. Listed at 44 lb capacity and 23.8 inches folded. Check the price on the page, since it costs a lot more than the aluminum models.
  • Monopod with feet and a fluid head: COMAN KX3232Q6. 73.2 inches tall, 22 lb load (listing).

Three of the four listings showed COMAN Direct as the seller when we looked. The seller on the T1S listing wasn't visible.

Promotions

No discount code is stated in COMAN's brief for these campaigns. Some product pages showed a "Save 10%" or "Save 5%" at checkout promotion when we looked. That's a page promotion from the listing, not a code from us, and it may change or end. Check the page.

What the listings don't tell us: how steady any of them are in wind, how smooth the fluid heads feel, or how long the locks last. We haven't tested them, so we can't say. If a leg or lock feels loose when you unbox it, return it inside the window.

Which one suits you

  • A video creator with a mirrorless or cinema camera on a DJI RS-style or Manfrotto plate: the Q6 fluid-head models (KX3939Plus, FT16LS, KX3232Q6) are the ones built for that. Check your plate type first.
  • Someone who mostly shoots from a standing height: the FT16LS reaches about 74.8 in, the KX3939Plus about 69.3 in.
  • A traveler who needs a short folded length: the T1S lists 23.8 in folded and 44 lb capacity, but it's the most expensive of the four. Our Peak Design Travel Tripod vs Ulanzi Zero Y guide looks at travel-first alternatives.
  • Someone who wants a monopod for sports, events or travel with a camera: the KX3232Q6. See Monopod vs Tripod for Photography for how to choose.

Before you buy

  1. Match the head to your camera. Fluid heads are for panning video. For stills, see Ball Head vs Fluid Head vs Gimbal Head.
  2. Check the plate. See Arca-Swiss Quick Release Plate Explained.
  3. Check load against your whole rig. See How Much Weight Should a Tripod Support?.
  4. Compare folded length with your bag. See Best Camera Backpacks for Mirrorless Travel.
  5. Keep the packaging and test it on day one. Amazon lists a 30-day return window on most orders.

FAQ

Which COMAN tripod is best for video? The Q6 fluid-head models are built for video. We haven't tested them, so we can't rank them for smoothness. The listings give the specs above.

Is carbon fiber worth it? It's lighter for a given strength but costs more. See Carbon Fiber vs Aluminum Tripod.

Is there a discount code? No code is stated in COMAN's brief. Some product pages show a "Save 5%" or "Save 10%" checkout promotion, which may change.

Did you test these? No. We have no samples. This guide is based on the Amazon listings at the time of writing.
